Frank Durso
In a career that has lasted more than five decades, Frank Durso has proved that he is a true legend in the sport of wrestling. Frank started his career with the old Pittsburgh Studio Wrestling. He has wrestled some of the biggest names in the history of this business from Ace Freeman, Arnold Skaaland, Fred Blassie, Johnny DeFazio, Dominic DeNucci, The Sheik, Jim Dillon, and Larry Zbyzsko. Frank also wrestled Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Heavyweight Title on August 10, 1966 in Philadelphia. Durso’s passion for the sport of wrestling still burns strong. He is one of the many men who paved the way for the future of this great sport. At a show today, you may see Frank get in the ring as an active wrestler. Frank is also manager of KSWA Megastars former four time KSWA Heavyweight Champion “The Enforcer” Shawn Blanchard & and also “The Future” Shane Starr.
Outside the ring Frank was just as wild as he was inside. There were many nights where at any local bar you may have seen Frank with his drinking partners one of pro wrestling’s greatest tag teams The Sicilians (Tony Altimore and Lou Albano), Joe Abbey & George “The Animal” Steele. Flash-forward to today and Frank still knows how to throw them down, but now he is doing it with his protégée, "The Enforcer" Shawn Blanchard.
From Pittsburgh Studio Wrestling to the WWWF, NWA, Puerto Rico and now the KSWA, Frank Durso has proved his longevity in the wrestling business. The Keystone State Wrestling Alliance is pleased to have Frank Durso in the KSWA Hall of Fame.
