Former KSWA Heavyweight Champion, “Double-A” Anthony Alexander has cashed in his rematch clause with the Championship Committee and will take on new and 5-time KSWA Champion “The Enforcer” Shawn Blanchard on August 29 at “When World's Collide” at the Lawrenceville Moose. Many of the KSWA Krazies are still in disbelief that Blanchard defeated Alexander at Summertime Bruise last month. Blanchard, for one, isn't swayed by public opinion. He still says he told everyone all along that the strap was going to go back around his waist.
However, what's still to be seen is what “The King” Del Douglas has to say about Alexander's challenge. Douglas lost a hard-fought battle last Saturday in what may have been “The King's” greatest match ever in the organization (and that includes his several Battle Royal wins during Millvale Days over the years). The King is already petitioning owner Bobby O's office for inclusion in this highly-anticipated match, but as of press time, the owner has not answered Douglas' charge.
The World Tag Team Championships are on the line Saturday night as the impressive, yet miss-matched champions, The Latin Assassin and Blood Beast defend against two of the VIP's—“Dr. Devastation” Lou Martin and “The Future” Shane Starr. The VIP's continue to do pretty much whatever they want in the KSWA, but could that include resting the tag straps from Latin and Beast's respective mantles? Latin and Beast have taken on all comers since winning their prestigious titles and the VIPs believe it's time for the Gold to return to their possession.
The Golden Triangle Champion Kris Kash finds himself in the eye of the storm in what has become the KSWA's most hectic division. Since defeating the still-missing Ali Kaida earlier this year, Kash has lost the belt, then regained it from “The King” Del Douglas. In addition to that, former champions Big Mike Malachi and Justin Sane feel that they've earned shots at the the title. Big Mike Malachi is still reeling from losing the strap to La Lucha some time ago and Justin believes he hasn't received a fair shot in recent events. In fact, Justin Sane has asked Bobby O for some time at “When Worlds Collide,” in Trapper's Den, to address the Golden Triangle Championship situation and where he fits in it all.
In a unique “Ultimate Survivor” match, “Team La Lucha”—the Mayor of Mexico City himself, Rick Rumsky, Vinnie Stone and “The Drunken Luchadore” Joey Quervo will face “Team Perri”—Bulldozer, The Great Toyota, Bobby Badfingers and Biker Al will battle it out in over-the-top-rope fashion until only one team remains. Two combatants will start off and another competitor will enter the fray in two-minute intervals.
This Saturday will also feature legendary Lord Zoltan back in a Pittsburgh wrestling ring. The Bourbon Street Brawler made a tremendous debut at the Arsenal Park Independence Day celebration; however, this is Lord Zoltan's “official” debut with Pittsburgh's Professional Wrestling Promotion, the KSWA. Zoltan has been teasing about his intentions, but as of deadline, the Championship Committee has not yet decided what to do with this uncontrollable character.
Rookie Mitch Napier will also be action as well.
“When Worlds Collide” is this Saturday, August 29 at the Home of Professional Wrestling in Pittsburgh, the Lawrenceville Moose. Bell time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for kids. Card is subject to change.
