The Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) is mere days away from one of the biggest fundraisers of its calendar year, the PA Connecting Communities event! And this year’s contest could feature the biggest Heavyweight Championship title change in some time.
The Legendary Lord Zoltan finally gets a one-on-one shot at “Dr. Devastation” Lou Martin’s KSWA belt. Martin has held onto the strap since December 3, 2011 and he’s never once defended it against Zoltan.
Martin is coming off of a successful defense against “The Drunken Luchadore” Joey Quervo and Lord Zoltan is still battling the villainous Mercenaries. Zoltan has been primarily a tag team wrestler in recent years, but his pedigree and legacy dictate he gets a title shot.
New KSWA Owner Shawn Blanchard takes on fan favorite Kris Kash in one-on-one competition. The two have met several times before, but since Kash was unable to retain the 5-Star Championship last Saturday, this battle has ramped up.
Speaking of the new 5-Star Champion, Mitch Napier defends the title against Justin Sane. This is a matchup set up by Blanchard, in hopes that the two fan favorites will destroy one another. These two Megastars have not met before in this environment, so it should be a good contest between a wry veteran and the most physically-dominate Megastar on the roster.
The Golden Triangle Championship is on the line when current champion Shane Starr defends against “The King” Del Douglas. Starr has been on a roll, but Douglas has not. “The King” lost the Tag Team belts when he was pinned by the newest VIPs—Edric Everhart, along with Tyler Cross—at “When World’s Collide.” However, Douglas—a former Golden Triangle Champion—will go for the trophy again this Saturday.
The KSWA Tag Team Division has been strong is recent years because of its depth. On Saturday, Jay Flash and the returning Tony Johnson will take on Sniper and “Nasty” Nick Crane. On Saturday the two teams will go at it. Flash is an aggressive juggernaut, and Johnson is probably the most acrobatic wrestler to ever compete in the Commonwealth’s most important ring. They are set to take on Sniper and Crane, two of the most devious minds in professional wrestling. The teams got to see a bit of one another during last Saturday’s 8-man extravaganza, but they will be able to take out their aggression without problem this Saturday.
And as a Special Attraction, the KSWA will host a $1,000 over the top rope PACC Battle Royal which should be a world of fun for fans, new and old alike.
The PA Connecting Communities fundraiser is this Saturday, August 24 at the Teamster’s Temple, 4701 Butler Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood within the city of Pittsburgh. Special bell time is 5:00 p.m. and all tickets are $10 each. See you there for this outstanding charity.
