Loser To Wear A "Chicken Suit" As KSWA Returns To 20th Millvale Days

The loser wears a chicken suit. New Keystone State Wrestling Alliance owner Shawn Blanchard seemed pretty confident when he recently announced that the non-title match up between KSWA Heavyweight Champion “Dr. Devastation” Lou Martin and opponent Lord Zoltan would have a unique stipulation. The loser of Friday's match at Millvale Days will be forced to wear the feathers for the rest of the weekend. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Millvale Days.

Martin held onto the Commonwealth’s most important Single’s title on August 24 when referee Shawn Patrick realized that there were shenanigans to end the World Title Match. Martin put his feet on the ropes, and used that pressure as leverage to keep Lord Zoltan’s shoulders on the mat for a three count. Martin was deemed the winner, but Patrick was swayed by Zoltan’s ringside compadre Justin Sane, and the crowd at the PA Connecting Communities fundraiser at the Teamster’s Temple in Lawrenceville. Zoltan was ruled the winner by disqualification. Blanchard was not happy and looked for a way to seek revenge. The chicken suit idea was a perfect way to humiliate Zoltan, he said.

Regardless of who wins the match Friday Night, both Megastars will return on Saturday, September 14 to take part in a tag team match. Blanchard and Martin—the original VIPs—will take on Zoltan and Sane—Party Gras—and one man will have to compete while wearing the early Halloween costume. Blanchard is convinced it will be the legendary Lord Zoltan.

Friday’s matches—all of Millvale Days is free to the public—will also include a defense of the Commonwealth’s Second most important strap—the Golden Triangle Championship. The reigning champion—from nearby Sharpsburg—will defend against Millvale’s own The Jester. The Jester, who until recently was one-half of the KSWA Tag Team Champions, brings his acrobatics to the Millvale stage.

The Commonwealth’s most innovative Single’s title is the 5-Star Championship. Designed as a showcase for the most technical wrestlers in any division—is the equivalent of the “5-Tool” baseball player. The new 5-Star Champion is Mitch Napier. Napier, who briefly held the KSWA World Title, is one of the strongest Megastars to ever hit the organization, has the most technical prowess, also has the speed, in-ring savvy and ability to execute virtually any more. In essence the division was created for a striker like Napier. He defends against J-Ru on Friday. This match promises to be a highlight as J-Ru also has many of those same talents. J-Ru is also a strong competitor, but almost no one can match Napier’s near-freakish strength inside the squared circle.

In a “Friday The 13th Handicap Match,” Camp Blood’s Blood Beast takes on The Mercenaries—Sniper and “Nasty” Nick Crane. The Mercenaries believe that they are better than all of the KSWA locker room, and the “slovenly” Blood Beast in particular. The Mercenaries say that they will make an example of the Blood Beast and wipe the ring with his blood. The Beast enjoys the challenge. This will be a hard-hitting affair, and not one to miss.

Also on Friday Night, “The King of Millvale” Del Douglas returns home to where it all began. In 2005, Douglas won the first-ever “King of Millvale Battle Royal.” He has worn a robe and crown ever since. He has carried scepters and even wore a gigantic gold necklace to the ring (until it was broken. Douglas said it was insured for $1 million). He will do battle with the leader of the Ginger Nation, Super Ginger. The King is already readying his steed for a post-match celebratory parade. Ginger, it’s believed, plans to T.P. The King’s 10-bedroom palatial estate high above Millvale.

Also, KSWA Owner, “The Enforcer” Shawn Blanchard will take on Justin Sane in one-on-one competition, leading up to the tag team showdown on Saturday.

The free “Road To FanFest 2013” Millvale Days matches continue at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. There, Blanchard and Martin will take on Party Gras. Either Martin or Lord Zoltan will have to wear the chicken suit for that match.

The “The King of the Mountain” Millvale Battle Royal will also highlight Saturday’s activities. As usual, Del Douglas is favored in his home town. Kris Kash has also won the event in the past; however, Kash remains sidelined with an injury and will not be in attendance either day.

If Shane Starr gets by The Jester on Friday Night, he will defend the Golden Triangle Championship against Edric Everhart of the VIPs on Saturday. This promises to be an exciting match between two well-established youngers with similar skill sets. Both are quick, proficient in the ring and strong. Starr continues to elevate his game to staggering heights and Everhart is the most promising of the “new breed” of VIPs, which includes Tyler Cross.

If Mitch Napier gets by J-Ru on Friday, he will take on The Jester for the 5-Star Championship. The Jester doesn’t possess incredible power like Napier, but despite his girth and size, is a lightning-quick and unpredictable wrestler. If all goes according to plan, this will be another fantastic match.

Any Community Day wrestling event deserves to have a battle of the behemoths. This match will have one. Bulldozer will make his way in from Detroit to take on The Blood Beast. With approximately 775 pounds in the ring at one time, this match will be hard-hitting and one that will assuredly please the crowd.

Jay Flash will take on the other VIP—Tyler Cross—in one-on-one competition. With Beast and Bulldozer throwing countless hay makers, it will be a nice contradiction to have Flash and Cross is a technical, quick-moving matchup. Both of this youngsters are riding high, but one will have to take a step back on Saturday.

And the Windy City Brawler Bobby Badfingers is now calling himself “The Baddest Man in the KSWA” and he has personally called-out Millvale fan favorite “The Drunken Luchadore” Joey Quervo as his “test subject.” How bad is Badfingers these days? You’ll have to find out on Saturday, September 14.

Millvale Days’ KSWA events are Friday, September 13, and Saturday, September 14 at Grant Avenue near Attic Records and Yetter's Candies. Check out kswa.net for more information. Card is subject to change.
