Tonight the Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA), Pittsburgh’s longest-running professional wrestling promotion, features a night of action that could very well change its face going into this “playoff” season.
The 7-foot tall Jack Massacre, who nearly bested “Dr. Devastation” Lou Martin for the KSWA World Heavyweight Championship a few years ago, gets his shot at current champion Shawn Blanchard. For 407 days, Jack Massacre and “Big” Mike Malachi have been KSWA World Tag Team Champions. That’s the third-longest reign in the KSWA’s modern era, behind only Party Gras’ 525 days and the Malachi-led “International Thugs” 442 days. At seven defenses, “Big and Bigger” are also in 3rd place, behind “IT” at 8 and Party Gras’ 15. That could change if Massacre upends Blanchard for the most prestigious Single’s Title in the entire Commonwealth, the KSWA World Championship.
Harley T. Morris won his the biggest match of his young career on June 20 when he earned a shot at the KSWA’s newest title: the 5-Star belt at “Brawl Under The Bridge” in Homestead. He will take on the first 2-time Champion, Super Ginger. With the “Mad Genius” David Marbell at his side, Morris has a hint of an advantage; however, Ginger, the hero from Ginger Hill, has had the Krazies believe in miracles before.
“The Face of Pittsburgh,” Lou Martin once again defends against Kaida. The Afghani Assault Weapon was defeated at the Independence Day celebration at Arsenal Park by “Dr. Devastation” is succinct fashion. Nevertheless, the KSWA Championship Committee believes the former KSWA Champion has another shot in his resume.
The reunited “Lost Boys,” Kris Kash and Shane Starr will take on the Mercenaries in a tag team match that might be under-appreciated going in. The veteran and sly Mercenaries might not be ready for the top-of-their-game Kash and Starr.
The match between Lord Zoltan and “The King” Del Douglas promises to be one of shenanigans, occasional hard-hits and underhanded deviousness and that’s just from the good guy Zoltan.
Jay Flash, The Jester and Ric Rumsky will face off in a Triple Threat Match. All three Megastars have been on upward trajectories in recent months, even though Jester had held the 5-Star championship. Flash has had hard-fought feuds with Justin Sane and others in recent months, and Rumsky has been impressive in sparse appearances since his Battle Bowl return. Athletically, this will be an interesting match as all three combatants have unique skill sets.
And J-Ru goes one-on-one with “Big” Mike Malachi. The Deeds v. Tag Champs feud has raged in recent months, with Malachi and Massacre advancing with success over the duo; however, with Mayor Mystery on Deeds’ side, anything can happen at any time.
This all leads up to KSWA's pinnacle event, FanFest, on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Teamster Temple.
