The Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) returns to action, one mere week after an exciting and memorable fundraising stop in Sharpsburg.

This time the KSWA returns to St. Raphael’s School for a third time. On September 27, 2014, Kris Kash and Bobby O originally defeated Shawn Blanchard and Tommy Faime in a tag team match; however, it was ultimately ruled a no-contest. School principal Robert Munz made the three-count pin after special guest referee “Gentleman” Joe Perri was knocked out. After threats of litigation and stonewalling by Blanchard and Faime, the KSWA Championship Committee wavered and threw the match out.

On May 30, KSWA Champion Shawn Blanchard lost two-out-of three falls to Kris Kash; however, Kash won the second decision by disqualification so the Most Prestigious Title in the Commonwealth did not change hands. In fact, it can be argued that the KSWA Title is the only Heavyweight belt that currently "matters" in professional wrestling.

This year will be different. The KSWA Championship Committee has announced that Blanchard’s defense this Saturday will be of the “no disqualification” variety. That means no count-outs and no-rules! In addition, Mr. Munz has been announced as the Special Guest Referee for this contest and will call the match down the middle, the way is intended.

This Saturday the KSWA will also host its first-ever St. Raphael’s “Over the Top Rope” Battle Royal. Many of the Megastars on hand this weekend will take place in the exciting match.“The Face of Pittsburgh,” “Dr. Devastation” Lou Martin will defend the Golden Triangle Championship against always unpredictable Ric Rumsky. Rumsky earned a shot at the most sought-after belt in Pittsburgh earlier this year and lost; however, the KSWA Championship Committee considers this a good match-up and they want to see Rumsky get a shot in an important venue like this fundraiser.

The Fighting Warrior Mitch Napier will defend the 5-Star Championship against a veteran foe in “King” Del Douglas. This should be an interesting battle between two vastly-different athletes. “King” Douglas is one of the cagier brawlers in KSWA history, but Napier possesses superior strength and top-notch technique. This has a chance of being a highlight of the evening.

St. Raphael’s students, friends and faculty have packed the gymnasium in the past for this outing and they are expected to pack it in this weekend.

Many other Megastars, such as Harley T. Morris, Super Ginger, Jack Massacre and Shane Starr are all set to appear this Saturday at the St. Raphael’s School fundraiser. All tickets are $10. Bell time is 7:00 p.m. St. Raphael’s is located at 115 Chislett Street, the Morningside neighborhood within the city of Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Call 412-726-1762 for more information. Card is subject to change.
