Six-Man Tag Match This Weekend In Sharpsburg To Feature Two Hall Of Famers On Same Team

For just the second time in Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) history, two Hall of Famers will be on the same team for a match this weekend.

For the first-time ever, the Golden Triangle Champion, “Mr. Tenacity” Tommy Faime (and a Class of 2013 inductee) will team with Lord Zoltan (Class of 2012) and “King” Del Douglas. The trio will take on Yinza—the Pittsburgh Luchadore, the 5-Star Champion Justin Sane and “Double-A” Anthony Alexander in six-man, tag team action.

It’s not often that Hall of Famers are on the same team. Last year, Lord Zoltan tagged with T-Rantula (Class of 2016) and Jack Massacre to defeat The Mercenaries—Sniper and “Nasty” Nick Crane, who teamed with Del Douglas at Fam Con, on October 2, 2016. That was the first time that KSWA Hall of Famers teamed up in a contest.

(Some observers may question the Frank Durso/Dominic DeNucci match from 2009 that pitted the two oldest combatants to wrestle one another in recorded history. Durso was a 2008 inductee, but DeNucci wouldn’t receive his nod until the next year.)

Faime, T-Rantula and Zoltan are the only KSWA Hall of Famers who currently wrestle. When Faime was inducted, he had retired to become a family man. He was the first “KSWA Original” to be enshrined, but came back, first as an owner of the federation and then as a wrestler. He won the Golden Triangle Championship at last year’s FanFest.

T-Rantula, a famous Dominic DeNucci trainee, hasn’t really left the industry since his debut in 1990. He found a home in the KSWA and was inducted by surprise in 2016. He and The Jester won the KSWA tag team belts also at last year’s FanFest.

Then there’s Lord Zoltan, the staple of the Western Pennsylvania Professional Wrestling Scene. He joined the KSWA in 2009, and quickly made it his in-ring home. He and Justin Sane won the KSWA tag team titles in 2011 and held the titles for a still-record 75 week run. Since that time Party Gras had continued their winning ways. This year, Zoltan turned on Justin Sane after he had won the 5-Star Championship.

Faime and Lord Zoltan find themselves on the same side of the competitive landscape this Saturday. Zoltan has been embroiled with a Justin Sane feud, primarily over the 5-Star Championship. Faime has battled Alexander for months. Since Alexander made a surprising return at the Joe Abby Tournament, he has been in Prime-Time form. And Douglas has simply taken on all comers this year, including the rookie sensation Yinza.

The action is all part of the KSWA 5th Annual Mario Ferraro Sr. Memorial Tournament, this Saturday at the Sharpsburg Volunteer Fire Department. The tournament will feature Kris Kash and Shawn Blanchard in the semi-final round of the tournament; with Lou Martin and “Big Country” Matt McGraw in the other first-round action. The finals will also take place that evening.

KSWA Heavyweight Champion Mitch Napier defends the most coveted title in the Commonwealth against hometown hero Shane Starr. Starr cashed in his Battle Bowl opportunity in Sharpsburg. The KSWA tag team titles will be on the line as champions T-Rantula and The Jester defend against Mike Malachi and Jay Flash, as well as Jack Massacre and Lucio Deveer. Plenty of other matches have also been inked.

The KSWA Sharpsburg VFD fundraiser and the Mario Ferraro Sr. Memorial Tournament is this Saturday. Card is subject to change.
