Ladder & Championship Matches, Adonis Debuts, Rock n' Roll Returns As Biggest "Brawl Under The Bridge" Is Set

Brawl Under the Bridge has over the past few years become the biggest individual professional wrestling event of the summer in the Pittsburgh region. Under the leadership of Blue Dust Pub, its sponsors, and the Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) Championship Committee, this year’s Brawl Under the Bridge IV promises to be the most talked about event of them all.
In past years, a Street Fight, ABC News and Nikolai Volkoff and Bill Eadie’s last single’s match anywhere have helped make professional wresting under the historic Homestead Grays Bridge the most unpredictable anywhere. And that fails to take into consideration Homestead’s octogenarian Mayor riding on the back of a Harley Davidson to the ring and plastering the Manager of Champions with a boat of cheese nachos.
Brawl Under the Bridge is a must-see for any fan of professional wrestling and this year’s installment is no different.
Local wrestler turned International Star—Sam Adonis—will make his exciting debut with the KSWA in a tag team match with long-time friend T-Rantula. The two will take on Jay Flash and “The Gavel” David Lawless, Esquire. Adonis’ debut is the latest, exciting stop in Adonis’ ever-expanding scope. One of the true International, Independent superstars, Adonis has had success around the globe. This, however, marks another key stop on the Western Pennsylvania scene. Adonis is set to team with T-Rantula against the physical and crafty duo of Flash and Lawless. This might be one time in which Lawless will have to turn his attention away from the Battle Bowl contract he won to face the KSWA Champion. And there’s no telling what Homestead Mayor Betty Esper has in mind for this summertime spectacular.
The legendary Rock n’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, are set to return to once again face the anchors of the KSWA, Shawn Blanchard and Lou Martin—the VIPs. The Rock n’ Roll Express were just in for KSWA FanFest last December, but the response to their visit was so in-demand that a hasty return was inked. Losers of the last contest, the VIPs are confident that they will “right that wrong.” But it’s possible that Rock n’ Roll will still be King after Brawl Under the Bridge IV.
The first-ever KSWA Ladder Match will take place Saturday Night for the Brawl Under the Bridge Championship. Battle Bowl opportunity winner “Flyin’” Ryan Burke, Kris Kash, Lucio Deveer (who qualified for the last slot on the contest last weekend), Harley T. Morris, Zak Hunter, Sly Scarpone and BROhemoth will take part in this innovative match. The Brawl Under the Bridge title will hang from the infrastructure of the Homestead Grays Bridge and the first Megastar to pull it down will win.
Current and reigning KSWA Champion Mitch Napier has his hands full with former Heavyweight Champion Shane Starr. The two waged a friendly war last November in Sharpsburg, and the two KSWA titans expect to return to form this Saturday night. If Starr wins, he would join Napier and Lou Martin as the only other two-time KSWA Heavyweight Champions. This Saturday, Napier will have held the KSWA Championship for 596 days. Starr’s remarkable reign was 476 days. Both would have a long time to beat Martin’s 735 and 798-day bench marks, or title defenses.
Big Mike Malachi takes on Double-A Anthony Alexander for the organization’s Golden Triangle Championship. Both are premier KSWA big men, and Alexander has gone on a tear against worthy competition. Malachi, who picks and choses his appearances wisely, has convinced the KSWA Championship Committee that this is a good time to take on Alexander, who had a grueling contest against Shawn Blanchard just last weekend at the Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser.
The 5-Star Champion, The Jester, is back to defend against one-half of the KSWA tag team champions—Bubba the Bulldog. This should be a keen test for The Jester, who has missed a couple of events since winning the vaunted and volatile 5-Star belt. Bubba the Bulldog sees a great opportunity to add to Team Don’t Care’s championship gallery. The Jester is one of the most acrobatic Megastars, while Bubba is a brawling and physical machine. This contest has the possibility of being a highlight of the exceptional night.
The tag team of Tommy Faime and “The King” Del Douglas will take on the team of Yinza and “Big Country” Matt McGraw, and a handicap match featuring Jack Massacre taking on Trick McSorley and Joey Quervo also highlights the night of action.
Brawl Under the Bridge IV, the World’s First and Only Solar Powered professional wrestling event, and brought to fans by Blue Dust Pub, is this Saturday, July 21, 2018, underneath the historic Homestead Grays Bridge, 599 West Main Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), Homestead, PA. There will be food trucks and beverage options of all kinds. Tickets are only $5 each. Bell time is 7:00 p.m. Card subject to change. For more information, call 412-726-1762.
