Ambulance Match Between BROhemoth & Martin Highlights Night That Includes Bubba's Return, Alexander's and Tag Team Defenses

The Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) returns to the road this week, and stops north east of downtown Pittsburgh and up the Allegheny River from Lawrenceville to the quaint town of Verona. The KSWA debuts at Cribbs Field for a night of action.
The Main Event of the event was set up recently when the VIPs set their collective sights on BROhemoth. The 320-pounder from Level 4 takes on Dr. Devastation Lou Martin in an Ambulance Match. The contest simply ends when one opponent places another in an emergency rescue vehicle. This is only the second Ambulance Match scheduled by the KSWA and “The Face of Pittsburgh” was featured in that one as well. He lost to Shane Starr in the Ambulance Match that highlighted Brawl Under the Bridge 2 on July 23, 2016. Martin, or a masked doppelganger, cracked BROhemoth in the skull last week at MJ’s Steel City Saloon. The two had the match set up the very next day in Verona when KSWA Owner Bobby O stepped in during an impromptu showdown between the two. Obviously, this will end up being a hard-hitting contest between two fiery individuals.
The other VIPs—Shawn Blanchard and Tommy Faime—are up for tag team gold as they take on the brand-new champions—Shane Starr and Kris Kash. This will be a match between four men who know each other very well. It could be stated that they know each other better than anyone else in the KSWA. Will this be a defining moment in the new reign of the Lost Boyz, or are the veteran team of Blanchard and Faime going to leave Verona with gold around their waists?
New KSWA Heavyweight Champion David Lawless won’t be in Verona to defend the most prestigious title in the Commonwealth; however, the reigning two-time Golden Triangle Champion Double-A Anthony Alexander will be fighting for his. And speaking of old opponent, he will defend against “The King” Del Douglas. Douglas had an opportunity at the city’s top singles belt earlier this year but fell short. What was remarkable though was Douglas’ performance. Douglas always battles but sometimes doesn’t get the duke. Douglas did take Alexander to the limit in their last meeting. The KSWA Championship Committee took note and inked this rematch. Alexander, ever the fighting champion, saw the opportunity and is ready to defend what is his.
Bubba the Bulldog returns to defend the KSWA’s 5-Star Championship for the first time. He will take on one-time titleholder The Jester. These two have battled before; however, the Jester always finds himself in contention for the 5-Star title. Bubba wants to earn his status in the KSWA as a singles wrestler, after holding the tag team championships with Dennis Gregory. This will a strong match between two athletes who love being at the top of the heap.
Dennis Gregory and Mitch Napier will go face-to-face for the first time since Gregory challenged for the KSWA Championship last year. That was a match-of-the-year candidate and this one should be no different. Both Megastars are at the top of their games. Napier is still regarded as “The Best Around” and he wants to get that KSWA Championship back. Gregory has hit his stride immediately upon joining the KSWA roster. One of the most decorated independent wrestling veterans in the sport’s local history, Gregory is not about to let opportunities arise, especially now that he is wrestling in Pittsburgh’s lone promotion and the Commonwealth’s most decorated.
T-Rantula and Officer Dan Murphy will face off one-on-one. They were both at each other’s throats during the 8-Man tag match at MJ’s Steel City Saloon last week and their chance to battle together looms. T-Rantula is one of the biggest men to ever lace up the boots in Western Pennsylvania, and Officer Dan Murphy is one of the few who can measure up height-wise. This should be a real test for the young Officer and see if he goes to Nacho City. Murphy has to be considered the underdog here.
“Big Country” Matt McGraw, Justin Sane and Zak Hunter find themselves in a Triple Threat contest. These Megastars also fought amongst themselves Saturday at MJ’s and the KSWA Championship Committee declared this a Triple Threat match. The veteran Sane finds himself battling Hunter and McGraw for the first time in this kind of contest. Can Sane use his high-flying skills against the pure brute force of McGraw and the crafty ring presence that is “The Scumbag” Hunter? This may not be the most technically-sound brawl, but it will be worth watching.
Joey Quervo was not happy about losing to youngster Trick McSorley last week at MJ’s Steel City Saloon, so he has employed the services of The Cleveland Bruiser to settle the score. The McSorley’s credit, he decided to go with a Megastar he trusts: Yinza, the Pittsburgh Luchadore. Yinza and McGraw have led the way when it comes to their training class, which also included McSorley. Yinza, in particular, has taken McSorley under his wing and “has his back” in this battle with a Drunken Luchadore.
All of this and much more at Cribbs Field, 700 2nd Street, Verona PA 15147-1337, this Saturday Night. Bell time is 6:00 p.m. with all tickets going for $10. Card is subject to change. For more information, call 412-726-1762.
