For a decade, the Keystone State Wrestling Alliance made the KSWA Arena its home. From 2004 to 2014, for 93 events, the Megastars battled at the former Moose lounge. On Saturday night, May 28, wrestling returns to what is now know as Spirit Lounge.
"The Giant Slayer" Jay Flash will go one-on-one against "Big" Mike Malachi. After a gigantic Fatal Four Way that featured 1,188 pounds of mass humanity, T-Rantula choke-slammed Malachi after a moment of confusion between the Irish Bear and Jack Massacre. Flash, who was often beaten pillar-to-post in the match, exited unscathed as the former KSWA tag team champions, "Big and Bigger" argued in the ring. Flash and Malachi have certainly had their disagreements over the past several months, and Malachi has been eager to get this opportunity against Flash. Flash, who is always confident and full of sass, says he does not fear Malachi and will once again be on top.
The most coveted tag team in the Commonwealth is on the line as KSWA Champion Kris Kash and Shane Star defend against "Vicious" Vinnie Stone and Bobby Badfingers, (known collectively as "Spear Asylum"). After Starr rolled up Badfingers for the win, the Windy City Warrior and West Virginia brawler both speared the tag team champion, all with Kash incapacitated on the outside. So "The Lost Boys" asked the KSWA Championship Committee for a rematch. The Committee readily obliged.
The "Face of Pittsburgh" Challenge is on once again as "Dr. Devastation" Lou Martin will put the Golden Triangle Championship on the line against the 7-foot tall Jack Massacre. Martin has squeaked by two competitors this year in T-Rantula and The Latin Assassin. Might Martin's luck run out against the biggest giant to ever step foot in Pittsburgh independent wrestling and the KSWA. Some say Martin is spending too much time looking at himself in that hand-held mirror, and Massacre may just agree with that.
Five Star Champion Mitch Napier is in the middle of the "Best of Five" Series against Kaida, but that won't stop the KSWA's greatest fighter from taking on VIP founder Shawn Blanchard. Blanchard, who has headlined more than three dozen Main Events at the KSWA Arena, is chomping at the bit to take on Napier. This battle between two brazen brawlers has a chance to steal the show.
Party Gras is together once again as Lord Zoltan, Justin Sane and the "honorary third Partier" The Jester take on "Nasty" Nick Crane, Sniper and "King" Del Douglas in six-man competition. Douglas, who made Zoltan tap out at the last KSWA event, has a whole new level of confidence after getting his crown and robe back from the legend. Douglas has asked The Mercenaries to help knock Zoltan and his partying buddies down another notch. Sane is ready to move on after dispatching of Harley T. Morris and the West Virginia Empire.
The newest member of the KSWA Hall of Fame, T-Rantula, will take on "The Drunken Luchadore" Joey Quervo. Quervo has had unsuccessful contests recently against The Latin Assassin and Blanchard, but the Drunken One certainly feels he has what it takes to defeat the 7-foot-tall Hall of Famer.
The KSWA returns to 51st and Butler Street at Spirit Lounge, 242 51st Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood within the city of Pittsburgh. Bell time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for kids. Card is subject to change.
