Alexander Faces Number One Contender Gregory, Starr Takes On Old Foe J-Ru, Morris To Defend Against Napier At MJ’s By Trapper Tom, Editor, KSWA Digest

Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) Heavyweight Champion Anthony Alexander finds himself on the MJ’s Steel City Saloon sand ready to defend the Commonwealth’s most coveted championship against arguably his toughest challenger in Dennis Gregory.

The two physical specimens and top titleholders are training for this shot under the Imperial, PA sky on Saturday, June 19. It will be a battle of two champions who have absolutely nothing to prove. Alexander is in rarified air when it comes to KSWA Heavyweight Championship reigns. He, Lou Martin and Mitch Napier are the only Megastars to hoist the state’s richest prize twice (Shawn Blanchard, of course, holds the record with six touts). Gregory entered the KSWA a few years ago as one of Western Pennsylvania’s most decorated champions, with more than 20 years and untold championships to his resume. The two have battled before, most notably when Alexander ended “The Year of Gregory” on December 7, 2019 at KSWA FanFest. They have fought when Gregory was the titleholder, and Alexander has accepted rematches. This battle comes at a time in which both men boast huge championship appetites, and great showings at Sheraden last month. This is a match to be taken lightly.

In addition to that marquee matchup, the KSWA Championship Committee and Owner Bobby O have inked

KSWA Wrestling owner Bobby O and the KSWA Championship Committee have announced the following matches for Saturday June 19th at MJ's Steel City Saloon in Imperial, Pennsylvania.

After an exciting reintroduction at JB's Roadside Bar and Grille last month, KSWA Golden Triangle Champion Shane Starr is set to defend once again against wry and experienced veteran J-Ru. Before the JB’s showdown, the two wrestled at the KSWA 20th anniversary event in February, 2020. The grapplers know each other exceptionally well in the squared circle, and J-Ru can never be underestimated when championship gold is on the line.

In a match that would highlight any card in the Keystone State, Five-Star Champion “The Professional” Harley T. Morris defends against former KSWA Champion Mitch Napier. Both of these athletes are similar in size and strength. And while Napier might hold a technical advantage over the Wheeling Professional, Morris has not lost a step since the COVID-19 pandemic has set the world on its collective ear. These two wrestlers will put on a technical and power-filled clinic that should not be missed. The only thing that may affect Napier is the loss of championship partner and friend BROhemoth last month. BROhemoth has still not spoken about why he viciously attacked Napier after losing the KSWA tag team championship. And Napier still hopes to reconcile with his “Best Bro Around” even though this championship opportunity looms.

New KSWA tag team champions Big Country Matt McGraw and Yinza, the Pittsburgh Luchadore, take on returning challengers “The Good Guys” Zak Hunter and Brent Noctus. Hunter has impressed for years in the KSWA and Noctus has shown an ability to stay toe-to-toe with Napier in tag team competition (and there may not be a better compliment). The Good Guys have had copious success as a tag team in territories near the Keystone State; however, the duo realized that they have been provided with a unique opportunity to reach the top of the tag team heap. Could the championship team of McGraw and Yinza be short-lived?

“The Face of Pittsburgh” Lou Martin has faced “King” Del Douglas in the squared circle together many times. Whether it be as teammates or more recent rivals, few Megastars know each other as well as Martin and Douglas. Now Douglas has aligned himself with the ultimate VIP Shawn Blanchard. Since professional wrestling returned to Pittsburgh, Martin has bested Douglas at JB’s, and The King has returned the favor to The Face the very next day in Sheraden. This will be the Rubber Match between the two multi-time champions. Assuredly, each man has something new in store for the other.

More news and developments are expected before June 19. MJ’s Steel City Grill is located at 682 Cliff Mine Road in Coraopolis, PA. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the bell sounding at 7 p.m. Tickets for this event are $15 and can be purchased at MJ's or by calling 724-227-3051 or 412-726-1762.
