The Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) returns to action Saturday night with a series of matches all with implications as to how the busy summer season might shape up.
In addition to the highly-anticipated KSWA Heavyweight Championship match between title holder Mitch Napier and the highly-touted, yet debuting “The Gavel” David Lawless, Esquire, the KSWA Tag Team Championship is in high demand.
Current champions The Jester and T-Rantula look to hold off the interest charge of Jay Flash and Denny Gregory (w/Mayor Mystery). The popular team of The Jester and T-Rantula have taken on a number of terrific competitors; however, they may face their toughest challenge to date with the fiery and feisty Flash and Gregory. Flash, a former KSWA Heavyweight Champion, looks to get back into the championship fold and he couldn’t have found a better partner than in the veteran Gregory. Mayor Mystery’s man is one of the most decorated wrestlers in Western Pennsylvania over the last two decades, and he would love to add a KSWA tag team championship to his resume.
Also in the tag team division, the VIPs—Shawn Blanchard and Lou Martin—take on the Lost Boyz—Kris Kash and Shane Starr in a Number One Contender’s match. The winners of this match will be the Number One Contenders for the Commonwealth’s most prestigious tag belts. The opportunity means a lot going into the summer months, where the KSWA is both in Spirit Lounge and traveling throughout Western Pennsylvania.
The Five Star Championship is on the line as new champion Justin Sane defends against old foe “King” Del Douglas. In recent years, Sane and Douglas have faced numerous times, albeit as tag team competitors. Remember, it was Douglas and The Jester that ended Party Gras’ historic 75-week run as KSWA tag team champions. Might this latest incarnation of the feud go Douglas’ way or will the rejuvenated Sane hold off the charge from one of the KSWA’s most durable and dogged challengers?
Meanwhile, Sane’s Party Gras partner Lord Zoltan faces a familiar face in his own right: Sheriff Steele. Steele has been a mainstay in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia for many years, but one might be surprised to learn that he has never wrestled in front of the KSWA Krazies. Earlier this year it was documented that Sheriff Steele has been aided in a regional fundraiser for a quarter century, and Lord Zoltan is frequently there to foil any shenanigans. The two “old school” characters have battled each other endlessly for years, but this is a notable match between the two. Lord Zoltan has made the KSWA his home since 2009, and Sheriff Steele wants a piece of the action.
It was also announced by the KSWA Championship Committee that a gigantic six-Megastar Tag Team Elimination Match has been added to the already-stacked card. A returning Jack Massacre and Joe Abby Memorial Tournament winner “Double A” Anthony Alexander will team up for the first time with the sensational Ice Machine to take on the formidable team of Golden Triangle Champion Tommy Faime, Harley T. Morris (w/David Marbell), and “The Enigma” Lucio Deveer. Deveer, along with Remy Levay, debuted last month at Spirit and were cheered by the fans. It will be interesting to see how “The Enigma” gets along with the always spirited Faime and the “Pride of West Virginia” Harley T. Morris.
