Fans of professional wrestling will get a rare, yet exciting glimpse of an “old school” masterpiece this Saturday Night as the Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) has scheduled a contest between two of the region’s most unique wrestlers.

It’s the legendary Lord Zoltan versus the vilified veteran Sheriff Steele!

Lord Zoltan, the KSWA Hall of Famer, needs no introduction to the Krazies. Beginning in 2009, Lord Zoltan, who began his career nearly 42 years ago, has called the KSWA and professional wrestling in Pittsburgh home. He has battled just about every Megastar there is and for 75 weeks held the KSWA tag team championship with Justin Sane. The “Party Gras” brand was born in Pittsburgh, and the two have traveled extensively since that time. They’ve even won regional titles as a team. But now that Justin Sane is the KSWA 5-Star champion, Lord Zoltan has focused on single’s competition.

That leads to Sheriff Steele. The Macon, Georgia native has battled wrestlers all over since his debut in the early 1990’s. Trained by KSWA and PWHF Hall of Famer Dominic DeNucci, Sheriff Steele has fought and fought beside Lord Zoltan countless times since about 1994. However, the two have never met in a KSWA ring, the major leagues of professional wrestling in Pittsburgh.

That changes this Saturday Night at Spirit Lounge in Lawrenceville.

The two wrestlers have a long and storied history, and one that the KSWA Championship Committee believes the Krazies need to experience first-hand. With the VIPs—Shawn Blanchard and Lou Martin—to other influential Pittsburgh-area wrestlers and personalities like Mayor Mystery, T-Rantula, and Denny Gregory, the KSWA has become the showcase for all important figures. It’s also the only stage for wrestling legends in Pittsburgh. The KSWA Championship Committee, the Gold Standard for professional wresting in Pennsylvania, believes that it’s now time for Sheriff Steele to tangle with Lord Zoltan in front of the best sports fans in existence.

Sheriff Steele is a powerhouse who successfully competes with other heavy lifters in the gym. In ring, his style is reminiscent of Zoltan’s. They will both slow down the contest and dutifully wait for an opening. While both men are not known for high-flying off of the top rope, they know how to use the squared circle to their advantage. There will not be acrobatics and nimble grace in this cost. The two veterans will grind their way through this eagerly-anticipated showdown. It can never be ignored that Lord Zoltan, even as a fan favorite, might bring a ring wrench into play.

It is unsure whether Mayor Mystery will have a stake in this match. It’s a fact that the Mayor of Parts Unknown and leader of champions have been long-time associates. History dictates that Steele is a former Sheriff of Parts Unknown. Mayor Mystery has decided to up the ante against KSWA Owner Bobby O this year. His advocacy for Denny Gregory is just the latest chapter of his storied career in Pittsburgh wrestling. The Mayor was Lord Zoltan’s manager when they both started in 2009 at the KSWA Arena. When Zoltan became his own man, and formed Party Gras two years later, a rift was created. The animosity continues to this day, and Mayor Mystery knows that knocking down Zoltan a peg or two would add fuel to the fire in his war against Bobby O. Even if Mayor Mystery doesn’t accompany Sheriff Steele to the ring Saturday night, one has to consider the lawman’s debut to be something of a coup to the parlaying politician. The level of intrigue in this match is considerable.

The showdown takes place this Saturday Night at Spirit Lounge, 242 51st Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood within the city of Pittsburgh. Bell time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for kids. Card is subject to change. For more information, visit kswa.net or dial 412-726-1762.
