The O.G. Of The VIPs, Shawn Blanchard, Returns For The First Time In 2021 At Children’s Miracle Network Fundraiser Saturday
October 7, 2021

Through the first dozen Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) events of a shortened 2021 schedule, Shawn Blanchard has literally been on the apron, looking in at the action. In most recent events, he’s dared to attack the opponents of “King” Del Douglas, and he’s assisted the Megabyte Monster, BROhemoth. But for the first time in 2021, Blanchard ties up the boots.
“For months, I’ve been hearing that pro wrestling is back! Well, I say pro wrestling isn’t back until this Saturday when Shawn Blanchard returns to the ring. Shawn Blanchard is pro wrestling and the rest is just sports entertainment posers.
“It is my time to return to the company that I built,” he continues. “I created more Megastars and drew more money than any other wrestler in the history of the KSWA.”
Blanchard is set to challenge the Golden Triangle Champion, Shane Starr, for the city of Pittsburgh’s most prestigious prize. Shawn Blanchard is Western Pennsylvania’s most decorated champion. A former 6-time KSWA Heavyweight Champion and a 6-time tag team champion, “The Enforcer” has been the Brawl Under the Bridge Champion, a Joe Abbey Tournament and Mario Ferraro Memorial Tournament winner. When Blanchard won his last KSWA Heavyweight Championship on March 28, 2015, and with James J. Dillon in his corner, he defeated Starr.
It’s incredible to note that Blanchard has never held the Golden Triangle Championship. He gets a chance against Starr this Saturday night at Kinloch Fire Hall for the Sam’s Club of Pittsburgh Mills fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Might history repeat itself between these two long-time rivals?
“Shawn Blanchard is the last true bad guy in professional wrestling,” the long-time VIP continues. “Others wish and dream about being like me. While they are worried about selling merchandise, I am selling out buildings! Nobody can match the passion and drive I have for Pro Wrestling!”
And while very few can match Blanchard’s intensity, Starr has held up his own as one of the industry’s top champions. He has defended the Golden Triangle Championship frequently, and when KSWA Heavyweight Champion Anthony Alexander has been on the sideline with an injury, it has been Starr who has Main Evented.
The KSWA Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Alexander returns this Saturday to team with "Face of Pittsburgh" Lou Martin to take on BROhemoth and “King” Del Douglas in a tag match that would headline any card in professional wrestling. All four Megastars have battled each other throughout Western Pennsylvania, but is the first time they match up in this showdown.
The reigning and defending 5-Star Champion J-Ru will attempt to hold off the unique “Permanently Pumped” challenge of Ric Rumskey. Since winning the title on July 17, J-Ru has defended frequently and against the likes of “The Regent” Joshua Kavod and “The Ram” Anthony Drake. Observers believe that J-Ru may never be better than he is today. Since returning to the KSWA earlier this summer, Rumskey has impressed in every match. Might he have enough energy and enthusiasm to defeat one of the best 5-Star Champions in the organization’s history?
One-half of the KSWA Tag Team Champions, Yinza the Pittsburgh Luchadore, is set to take on “The Professional” Harley T. Morris. While The Renegades have been rolling since winning the titles this year, and Morris has been struggling since losing the 5-Star belt. Morris and his frequent tag team partner Officer Dan Murphy have been breathing down the necks of the tag team champions. This matchup could be a good learning exercise for Morris to get back on the winning track.
The other Renegade, "Big Country" Matt McGraw, will take on Officer Dan Murphy in one-on-one competition. This battle of the biggest of Megastars will be a hard-hitting affair. Neither man will back down and land plenty of muscle.
"The Ram" Anthony Drake and “Mad Dog” Zak Myers have battled each other over the past several weeks and this will be another chapter in their feud.
K.S.W.A. Wrestling returns to Kinloch Fire Hall for the annual Sam's Club of Pittsburgh Mills Miracle Network Pittsburgh Mills fundraiser this Saturday, October 9, 2021. Bell time is 6:00 p.m. All tickets are $15. Kinloch Fire Hall is located at 915 New York Ave, New Kensington, PA 15068.
