McGraw Scores 5-Star Gold, Megastars Grapple In Steady Downpour At MJ’s Steel City Saloon

An outstanding group of Keystone State Wrestling Alliance (KSWA) Krazies cheered on and booed the Megastars during their September stop at MJ’s Steel City Saloon. Every time KSWA travels to MJ’s, the Megastars are met with at least a little rain. On Saturday, much of the evening was compromised with a steady precipitation, and the fans were supportive throughout.

The evening also marked the much-anticipated return of Imperial’s own “Big Country” Matt McGraw.

Shawn Blanchard w/Del Douglas v. Captain Curly John

Among the sprinkles that always dog the KSWA at MJ’s, Shawn Blanchard gets the early hand on the good Captain. Blanchard keeps a slow, grueling pace with the Captain from the Seven Seas. Blanchard slams Curly John’s head into the top turnbuckle. There’s a side slam from Blanchard as Del Douglas encourages the former 6-time KSWA Heavyweight Champion. Blanchard digs at Curly John’s head and suplexes him in the center of the ring. Blanchard pulls Curly John up before the pin. Douglas shouts “Head Games.” Curly John gets the upper hand and gets Blanchard in the corner. He applies a series of right hands to Blanchard’s cranium. Blanchard clotheslines the Captain as he goes in for a splash, Blanchard follows with a swinging neck breaker and a knee. Blanchard calls for the win. There’s a pile driver and he secures the victory. 6:14.

Tag Team Match: The Freek Show vs. Hunter Huffman and Tony Onyx

It’s Freek E. Doyle and “Big” Tony Onyx who start out. Doyle wanted a Test of Strength, but he duped Onyx. Onyx did get a momentary upper hand but Doyle hits Onyx hard in the back. Onyx wants to challenge Freek. Freek gives him an over the hand chop. Then another. Doyle ducks a chop. The two continue to face off. Doyle ducks but Onyx stops. Doyle stands up and Onyx chops him. Onyx drops Doyle and tags in Huffman. Doyle gets to the mountainous Man Child. He drops Huffman and then body slams Doyle onto the prone Huffman. Doyle drops onto Huffman for a back splash. He gets a two count. A “You Suck” chant erupts at Doyle. He continues the pressure on Huffman. Man-Child is in and splashes Huffman in the corner. The Freek Show continues the offense on Huffman. There’s a butt splash on Huffman. Huffman gets a shoulder up at two. Man-Child continues to blister Huffman. Doyle is in and he’s dropped onto Huffman. Two-count on the pin attempt. Huffman is back on the offense, but that’s short lived. Doyle drops Huffman and gets a two count. Man-Child is tagged back in and rakes Huffman’s eyes over the top rope. Huffman separates from Man Child and nearly gets to Onyx. Huffman gets to Doyle. Freek keeps the offense going. He drops Huffman down. Mark Charles III gets down and counts only two. Huffman gets a second wind. He side-slams Doyle. The fans cheer for Huffman and Onyx with a rousing “USA, USA.” Big Tony is in, and he clotheslines Man-Child. He cannot get the big man down. Onyx does gets Man-Child, but he cannot pin him. Onyx hits a cutter. That only slows down the 400-plus ponder. Man-Child falls out of the ring. Huffman is in. He spears Doyle, who is held up by Onyx, for the win. 12:48.

The owner of the KSWA comes to the ring and officially announces that the KSWA is now “On the Road to FanFest” and that some announcements are forthcoming. He also talks about some upcoming KSWA events, including a charity basketball game that will benefit Special Olympics.

Edric Everhart vs. Shane Starr

The bell rings and both Megastars are ready to go. Everhart gets Starr in the corner. The hold is broken, and the fans chant loud for Shane Starr. They lock up again and Everhart is backed in the corner. He breaks clean. Everhard gets Starr in the corner. Everhart nags with the referee and then with the crowd. Starr gets Everhart in a wrist lock. But Everhart gets out of it, and peppers Starr in the midsection. The Krazies aren’t happy with Jimmy James and the match rolls on. Everhart whips Starr into one turnbuckle and then another. The two megastars battle one another. Starr battles and splashes Everhart. Everhart rushes from a corner and boots Starr down. Kris Kash and Del Douglas suddenly make their way from the locker room to ringside. They appear to be scouting both men. Everhart has Starr in the corner. He chops him there. Everhart goes for a kick, Starr blocks in, gets Everhart down. Kash gets to the apron and drapes Starr’s head over the top rope. A twist of fate is dropped on the apron. Everhart turns around for an easy pin. 8:15.

Five Star Championship, Triple Threat Match: Harley T. Morris, Anthony Drake vs. Sin Born (champion)

The fans are not supportive of The Professional. They scream at Morris. Sin Born and Morris go “Rock, Paper, Scissors as to who will go after The Ram first. It doesn’t matter, as Drake powers both men. He goes for a double noggin-knocker but they fight out of the hold. Drake has Sin Born on his shoulder and knocks down Morris twice. Drake goes for more offense, but Morris ducks a charge in the corner. Morris is able to go after both men. Morris is in charge. Sin Born, who had been knocked outside, tries to get back in. Morris knees him out. Morris has Drake in the corner for a series of running knees. Drake head butts Morris and gets him up for a body slam. Sin Born is back in and he gets in Drake’s way. There’s a series of head butts to Sin Born’s chest and big power slam from the outside. A sloppy cover follows. That ends at two. Ram misses a splash. Sin Born continues to back splash onto Drake. He keeps the offense going. Drake blocks an Irish Whip. Drake gets Sin Born up for a side suplex. Sin Born drops Drake. Morris kicks Sin Born in the head. There’s a pin attempt at two. Morris gets both opponents down for a pin, but they kick up. Morris gets ready for the Ram to get up. He gets him up for a slam from the shoulders. Sin Bon is in and suplexes Morris onto Drake. Sin Born drives Morris down. Sin Born gets the microphone and runs down the KSWA locker room. He says that he’s beaten everyone and no one can beat him. With that, “Big Country” Matt McGraw, accompanied by the still-injured Yinza, the Pittsburgh Luchadore, comes to the ring and cashes in his Yellow Ticker for the 5-Star Championship. The match is made official, and the two men are set to face off.

Five-Star Championship, Sin Born (champion) vs. “Big Country” Matt McGraw

The two start off with Sin Born, understandably, getting the upper hand in the early going. McGraw fights back with power. He hits with chops and a suplex. There’s a massive “Country” chant for the challenger. McGraw gets Sin Born in the corner for an overhand chop. McGraw continues to dominate for a few moments. Sin Born jumps McGraw’s back. He gets McGraw into a sleeper hold. McGraw will not give up. There’s a spear on Sin Born. The pin and the win for McGraw. 6:15

Golden Triangle Championship: Johnny Norris vs. Tyler Grayson (champion)

Grayson works arm/headlock three times into the corner, Norris with a big right forearm. Grayson goes for a crossbody, Norris catches him and plants him with a big slam. Norris with a right hand, sending Grayson into the corner. Into an inverted Atomic Drop for a two count. A suplex downs Grayson. Grayson gets an advantage. There’s a big boot and leg drop by Norris. Two counts on Grayson. Norris keeps the offense on Grayson. He fights out and Norris tries to get the hubris cover. Grayson starts to fight back and he suplexes Norris. Twice. And gets a two count. Grayson dives onto Norris and gets a two count. Grayson asks for the fans’ support, and he gets it. Norris gets up and tries for a choke hold. Grayson rolls out of it and lands a DDT. Both men are slow in getting up. Norris and Grayson trade blows. Norris gets Grayson down and nearly gets a pin fall. Norris readies for the Lights Out choke slam. Grayson blocked the choke. He hits Norris with a knee strike for the 8:43.

Anthony Alexander vs. Justin Sane

Alexander is all over Sane in the early going. Del Douglas is in prime voice at ringside. Sane is able to avoid a spear in the corner. Sane grabs the left arm. Sane drapes Alexander’s arm over the top rope. Sane goes Old School. He misses the Famouser. Double A is ready. He strikes Sane with the Prime-Time Cancellation for the decisive victory. 4:00.

KSWA Heavyweight Championship: Kris Kash vs. Lou Martin

Kash dives onto Martin on the outside. The action immediately goes to the outside. Kash boots and ax handles Martin on the outside. Martin overcomes Kash on the outside. Hits him with a chair. A wooden chair to the noggin. Referee Shawn Patrick allows a lot of outside work. Martin gets Kash on his back and dives him down. Martin clobbers Kash with a water bottle. Martin is in the ring. Martin hits Kash’s head into the top turnbuckle on two corner posts. There’s a bulldog. There’s a pin attempt that ends at two. Martin clobbers Kash, but the former one-time champion gets the current champ in the ropes. Kash to the turnbuckle. Martin meets him with a clothesline. Kash returns with offense to get Martin down. Martin is outside. Kash follows. There’s a boot to the head. Martin is down in the sand. Kash rolls him in. Shane Starr materializes from the locker room. He gets on the apron and shouts something to Kash about him being involved in his match earlier in the evening. That’s enough to distract him, and when he turns around, he eats a boot from Martin. The defending KSWA champion then grabs Kash for the Death Certificate. He lands the move and scores the victory in 7:42.
